Looking back, it seems that we throw out what works, say it doesn’t work when it does or replace what works with something that is just made up based on fantasy science, giving it a really good sounding, sophisticated name and justifying it by some made-up or unproven principle.

Less education means fewer physical possessions and a lower standard of living. It means things like less travel and reduced understanding of your rights. There’s no end to the list of things you’ll be denied.

The American Dream seems to have been drowned out by this definition of success that is demanded by people like it’s some entitlement or some expected result of existence or living.

Everything in the materials must be factual or labeled as speculative.

Up until the early Nineteenth Century, insanity and debt and other personal problems were handled mostly by the local Church and affiliated charities.

There are a lot of “useful idiots” who who want attention or want to feel important.

Physical World - we have a general mutual interest in preserving the planet. In large part, the interest is expressed in a negative way - we don’t want to lose our place to live - the playing field, as it were. Education and science can help us in this area.

You teach them how to read and then teach them about books, classics, libraries and periodicals, etc. Teach them what fiction and non-fiction are and the difference between serious philosophy and easy going entertainment.

We are not big fans of structure and bureaucracy and we are in favor of you getting whatever you can get for yourself. If you can get yourself an attractive compensation package, more power to you. It’s the American way

We sort of improvise correction as we go or we don’t see the need for corrections or we’re just too apathetic to put out the effort to correct something.

First of all, a good teacher is somebody you wouldn’t mind knowing or calling your friend. They are pleasant to be around and they are just interesting in some way or another.

In spite of all this investment, the US has fallen from 1st to 25th (or worse) worldwide in reading, math and science

At lower levels, things get pretty covert - smile to your face and a knife in your back.

For some people, it’s just natural. They have the “gift of gab” or they sound smart, naturally, without even trying.

Saying something is important when it isn’t produces a solution that is false, misleading and usually unworkable.

To be a fully informed voter, you would have to spend full-time observing and recording the government activities and then analyzing what is going on and what to do next.
